The doldrums of January. A few interesting photographs.

Padua, Italy. One of the many cafes I hung out in when I was home in my adopted city. Some alternative processing that did its best with the low quality iPhone images available at the time. And actually the only photo I could find taken this day and year.

Venice, Italy

Padua, Italy. Window gazing.

Arcella, Italy. Nearly every morning on my way to Cafe Arcella to work on a project, I passed this fish shop, and the stalwart man who sold kitchen items as people came and went. Hard to believe ten years have passed. And a part of me still thinks the shop and the man are still there enjoying the symbiosis of their retail ambitions.

Padua, Italy. My own Saul Leiter inspired capture. I don’t remember if I knew who he was at the time.

Arcella, Italy. I have so many photographs of my time spent in this coffee shop. Unobtrusive me sitting somewhere towards the back on and given day, my attention on a project, but my moments of clearing my head spent watching for a moment to capture.

Padua, Italy. Cue in older lady in a coat with her dog. Like rain on a rainy day, always these drops to capture.

Bioparc Valencia, Valencia Spain

Macae, Brazil

Denver, Colorado. A typical familiar site. Packing or unpacking a suitcase. Most of the time just a small carry on. If I had a few bucks for every piece of baggage I’ve had, I would probably be able to afford Ruth’s Chris Steak House, dinner for two. Add emotionally baggage, and I could probably afford to buy out the franchise.

Dener, Colorado. One of the more challenging months in my life. The end of a relationship. Time spent sitting in my car trying to figure out where they went wrong, since I am right at least 50% of the time!

Da Nang, Vietnam. It was less expensive to eat here everyday than cook. Which worked out fine, since my ‘home’ for the month was a hotel room right next door.
